A beer stein, produced in the last decade of the 19th century in the westerwald area in Germany.
It has a capacity of 1 liter.
Lidded with a pewter lid. The tang of the lid is marked 'F&M' and 'NBG', which are factory markings of the company Felsenstein & Mainzer, a pewter shop that was founded in 1886.
There is no maker's marking on the stein itself, nor is there a mold number.
The verse on the stein reads: "Pejfert du muss dapper blasen, dan danssen dej bouren als weren sje rasen", which can be freely translated as "Hornblower you must blow your horn vividly, and then the farmers will dance".
