After years of M&R collecting and recent reflecting over these steins, I've come to a conclusion. There are many of these style steins around, they are amost always Marzi and Remys, sometimes with the maker's mark but more often not. Sometimes no base markings but often a small four opr five digit, black ink, mark that is hand written. All of these appear to be on a mold 990 body. It's my opinion that these represent decoration numbers, not mold numbers. TBSL has treated them as mold numbers but I believe that's a mistake. This one, for instance, has a completly different stein listed for 1479 in TBSL. These steins are the only case of Marzi and Remy using decoration numbers to my knowledge, so it would be easy to assume that they are mold numbers.
