Indicators identifying this as a Theresienthal are yellow-green glass, distinctive "C" shaped handle that sits low on the stein body, and inside the body "thumbprint" pattern (fire polished on the outside).
The dome style lids with ball thumb lifts on Theresienthal steins are attributed to Eduard Rau (Inhaber Karl Rau). However, Rau was an agent for Theresienthal Cristallglasfabrik who exhibited and distributed their glassware. Rau also purchased lidded stoneware steins from Brüder Thannhauser, a pewterer located next door. Brüder Thannhauser purchased Theresienthal glassware through Rau and applied the pewter fittings prior to selling them. Although not marked, this is most likely the path this stein took from fabrication to sale. Brüder Thannhauser was founded c.1882 and ceased operations c.1916.
