Inside lid is shiny and clean - no damage anywhere

According to SCI, this is a “very rare” ink stamp of MERKLEBACH & WICK, GRENZHAUSEN, B. COBLENZ (Dark Green Ink Stamp)

Right side up mark on inside of lid??? I see the MUNCHEN, but not sure about the top and middle words?

Makes me wonder whether this steinkrug was served with beer during the historic events of the period. I’ll never know, but I am lucky to hold another piece of history that must be preserved, shared, and enjoyed.

Based on what I have read so far, I am guessing this stein was produced before December 28, 1921, when the Bürgerliche Brauhaus was merged with Löwenbräu. Also, since it has the Merklebach & Wick, Grenzhausen, B. Coblenz ink stamp, no later than 1921 makes sense.

There is an engraved stamp on the inside of the lid but I cannot make it out.

***** If anyone has more specific information, including specific date, the stamp on inside of lid, etc., I’d love to hear it. Danke!
