This is an original Hacker-Bräu München brewery stein with original pewter lid.
There is a 4/10 L. mark with black line underneath it, next to handle.
Age: Approximately 1900
The colors are brilliant for such an old stein. The lettering and design are detailed and crisp.
There is a pronounced mold number 1909 at the base for VILLEROY & BOCH.
There also appears to be a small number 6, 9, 69 or some kind of marking also on the base.
Note: If anyone knows what the small marking is or has any additional information on this stein, please contact me via email anytime. I would greatly appreciate it.
This is my first addition of a stein to the “My Stein Collection” catalog. I’m excited to add more and hopefully learn more about them from this community. I learn from reading your comments describing your steins. Hopefully I’ll be able to help others over time as well.
This is a beautiful Hacker-Bräu Munich bierkrug. The lid is tops! Pun intended!

The mold number 1909 is by producer Villeroy & Boch in Mettlach. So they produced at least the ceramic body of your stein.
Kind regards,

Just noticed you commented; Thsnk you! ????????
This information is very helpful. As I said previously, I have a steep learning curve, but enjoying the learning process, reading, researching, and communicating with you and hopefully others as well.
