The front inscription reads "Dale", likey the recipient, and the date February 24th, 1953, possibly his birthday. The inscription on the base reads "With love from" and the name of the gifters. This stein was likely in the family or may have been purchased. In any case, it might be considerably older than the inscription date. or it may be from as late as the fifties as there were steins produced to reproduce an older time period. Two differnt pewter formulars were used for this stein, thus the feet and thumblift are considerably darker than the rest of the stein.
