The translation of the engraving I have is "Presented to Leader (?) Jacob Groh by the men of the Great German 25th Division on the occasion of his 25th Wedding Anniversary, 1897, Frankfurt, Germany." The 25th was a Hessian Division, the finial is the Hessian lion and shield.
